They are absolutely amazing twins, if you ask me. I am really impressed! They share numerous bodily organs as a result of an extremely rare case. Wondering how they cope with the public eyes and being focus of the community and doctors. I am truly admire their courage.
Abigail “Abby” Loraine Hensel and Brittany “Britty” Lee Hensel (born 7 March 1990, Carver County, Minnesota, United States), are dicephalic conjoined twins. Brittany is the left twin, and Abigail is the right twin. They have two spines which join at the pelvis. They have two stomachs, three lungs, and two arms. (A third, underdeveloped and useless arm between their heads was amputated in infancy.)

Oh wow. Absolutely amazing. So many questions like do you both feel/control all parts of the body? Do your thoughts get shared? Who is in charge of walking or is it a joint effort? I know I will be flamed for posting my honest opinion. I make no apologies. I certainly have mixed feelings about this person.
I was pregnant 15 years ago. I was considered a high risk pregnancy. I received genetic counseling and an amnio. I was told that these tests would reveal if there were any disabilities or deformaties in the fetus. At that time I could have decided to abort or continue the pregnancy. Several sonograms were also performed on my fetus. I also had full medical coverage through my husband’s employer.
In 1995 I gave birth to a normal male infant.
Had any of the tests revealed a 2 headed fetus was developing in my uterus, I would have aborted.
Why wasn’t this deformity picked up when an ultrasound was done? No matter where she goes, she will be a freak of nature no matter how “normal” a life she lives.
I am disappointed that she is allowed to ‘cheat’ on tests – like copying from your neighbor. One head should be blindfolded and tested and then the other head tested the same way; in this fashion the school system will know if both heads have learned the subject.
The same should have been done for a driving test or not allowed her to apply for a license at all.
What about working? She is not eligible for two paychecks – or is she? Selling burgers for $7.00/hr for a normal kid; does she get paid $14.00/hr because she has 2 names or is the establishment in violation of fair pay laws by paying each head $3.50/hr and therefore, less than minimum wage?? If she does get the double pay because of 2 heads, can she physically demonstrate that she is twice as able as a single headed kid and therefore more deserving of double pay?
So many questions – its not just about walking around with another head on your shoulder.
What happens if she falls and one head dies? There are so many ethical questions to be answered and should be addressed as soon as possible.
Since the state of Minnesota sees her as 2 people – she will never be allowed to marry because a man may take only one wife. Should she marry – she would be committing polygamy.
Such a tangled web…. Perhaps she is a sign of the Apocalypse – the focus of God’s wrath.
Lot’s of childish negativity in some of the above posts, ignorance is the only thing that is evident in these posts. Some valid concerns, though have been raised. None of the concerns I would expect is a new one to the girls and their family. I am sure decisions regarding any of the matters above will be made based on sound family values and the laws of Minnesota or other jurisdiction they may choose to live. Certainly, the views of highly opinionated “friends” or those views from the lesser forms of life evident above will not be considered for a millisecond. I wish the Abby, Brittany and their family the best always.

They were created by God for His reasons. They should get double pay and will have to always find a job both are willing to work at. It would be best if they could both “share” one man, but it sounds as if one is engaged and the other one is not. It seems really strange and difficult, but, on the other hand, each one has always had someone who loves her and is extremely close to her and can “read her mind.” There are worse things in the world and they look happy in the pictures I’ve seen. Each one always has one person (the other head) who really understands them in the world. That is invaluable.

“Glad she’s not mine” is a fucking cunt. Seriously, who are you to make assumptions about these women and how they’re treated? Just because you’d treat them as subhuman, doesn’t mean society does. These pictures are evident that they are pretty normal girls – notice the plural; how DARE you refer to them as “she” or even make an argument that they shouldn’t be regarded as two individuals. These girls have two minds, two personalities and two souls.
They’re entire lives has probably involved adapting to the unique challenges the face. It’s really quite fascinating and I don’t think there are any “right” ways to do something that has never been done before. In regards to marriage for example, I see no legal issues in their way: either the state would make an exception for their unique situation, the husband would officially marry just “one” of the women, or they would simply have children with a guy they both love and not even worry about it.
While these women have and certainly will face hardships in life, it makes sense to view responding to such challenges positively, as possibilities, rather than negatively, as limitations.

They are two girls in one body, not two headed girl. Each has a separate heart, lungs, brain, nervous system. One cannot feel the others arm. One cannot feel the others leg, although they appear to be together from the waist down. It is an unusual condition, certainly not horrible, and once you see their video on youtube you realize they’re just like everyone else, amazingly bright, intelligent and they become beautiful. As for marriage. I don’t see that one working for either of them, since it may cause complications, and they are two separate people in one body. I think they’d do better to stay single and help others who have similar problems. It appears they’ve already made up their minds on that one though. They are two souls in one body.
