How they produce the cheap bird nests?

Posted on 05. Jul, 2007 by in General

Many does not know the original bird nests are filthy and they are all stinky. People simply won’t buy or eat. Now I am going to tell you what these people did to make the bird nests ‘eatable’ and have market value.

The workers are cleaning the fur, grass and mud from the bird nests.

After cleaning, they cut the nests into smaller pieces for the next cleaning process.

Then they soak the nests with water. Junk will float on top.

Then the bird nests are soaking in bleach for hours, till they are all turn white.

We can see the the bleach become dirty.

After bleaching, the nests must wash again with the boiled hot water, till it wash away the smell of bleach.

Next, they gotto pick away the parts that cant be bleached.

Now, the workers started to make the bird nests into cake.

After making them into shapes, it’s time to dry them up.

After drying them for more than 24hours, they successfully making those filthy and stinky bird nests into something we can eat and buy.

In Malaysia and Indonesia, the production of bird nests are at least 800 - 2000KG per year.

There are not much eatable bird nests, all are dirty, filthy and dark in color, no one would buy. In order not to waste it, people figure out ways to make it an attractive product, which is bleaching the bird nests.

Some producers using H2O2 to remove away the smell of the low quality bird nests. This H2O2 is a strong chemical which will leads to cancer, it was strictly prohibited to be added in food production.

By adding such dangerous chemical into the bird nests, it has detroy the orginal nutrition.

Therefore, stop being naive, stop buying cheap bird nests.
