It’s obviously a commentary on how modern society lives in such decadence and to a man living in poverty to see a relatively small group with such a large amount of food just dumped everywhere that picture is his heaven

The picture of “the fat lady and all the food” is from the book ‘Hungry Planet’ by Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio, which is a photographic study of families from around the world, revealing what people eat during the course of one week.
It’s not a lot if you image that that is all of the food which that family of seven has for one week. Though if you see the book, you’d be amazed at what some families eat (-or rather don’t eat).
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and though some of these photos may not appear to be all that interesting at first glance, pause to think for a moment that they all have a story behind them and some of their stories may be worth a whole lot more than a thousand words.

The one with the soldier clutching the helmet and crying is the most inspirational but sad photos i’ve ever seen…great photos.

Maybe those in the photo with all the food are expecting visitors to their home and need to prepare a feast. Think Homer’s Odyssey, when there are visitors, you feast. What if that is a farming family, inbetween harvests, and the family needs to eat? Who cares? the light is good, the Framing is what it is. Sometimes see what is there instead of what is not. Is the glass half full or half empty? there is both gas and liquid in the glass.
These are amazing pictures but , all of them are not the best. In the photo whr the soldier was crying because of his comrade’s death , really touched me. Other pics are gud too.

You people that say these pics are bad have something wrong with your heads. These pictures are taken with OUR LIFE inside of them. Everything is there, hunger, loss, war, devistaion, love, and good old mother nature. These are all touching photo’s, so You grow up and show that you have heart. You would feel different if that was you or a loved one in any of those photos.
